Üsküdar University, pioneer in Behavioral Sciences and Health

Üsküdar University was founded on March 3^rd 2011 within the organizational structure of Humanitarian Values and Mental Health Foundation.

Üsküdar University, which offers education on Behavioral Sciences and Health by the presidency of Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan aims to educate scientists who will contribute to Turkey and the rest of the world, given the multidisciplinary approach and more than 1000 academicians and administrative staff.

Üsküdar University currently has five faculties such as Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine, which will start its education this year. Alongside the faculties, Üsküdar University has a Vocational School of Health Services and five institutes, which are Addiction and Forensic Sciences, Social Sciences, Sciences, Health Sciences and Institute for Sufi Studies.

 Üsküdar University, which generates projects in the fields of behavioral sciences and health, as well as in the fields of psychology, psychiatry and neurology, contributes to research in this field in the world and aims to produce solutions for the treatment of brain related diseases and act in line with the needs of the society.

Turkish Representative of Brain Research Initiative (BRAIN)

Üsküdar University is the Turkish representative of “Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative” supported by the 44^th US President Barack Obama. Üsküdar University continues its contributions to Brain Research G20 Summit through participating to SBMT (Brain Mapping and Therapeutics) and Brain Initiative within the scope of “The Brain” representative on November 2015 as the only Turkish University.

Application Partner NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital  

Üsküdar University offers practical training aside from the theoretical education. Students studying at the Main, Çarşı, Altunizade North and Altunizade South campuses can perform clinical applications at NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital, NP Feneryolu Medical Center and NP Etiler Medical Center in Umraniye.

Communication Skills and Positive Psychology Lectures

Students have the opportunity to do double major and minor in the field of behavioral sciences and health, in addition to the studies carried out through applying the multidisciplinary expertise. The students get together with the leading names of the industry and benefit from their knowledge and experience and learn to write projects before they graduate in their “Project Culture” courses as part of the “University Culture” courses. They have the opportunity to actualize their projects in BRAINPARK. “Communication Skills” and “Positive Psychology” courses are mandatory for all students regardless of their departments. In this context, social success and science of happiness are also taught aside the academic success.

Erasmus and European Representative

Üsküdar University has exchange programs with various universities from many countries.

Üsküdar University, which has the most international ERASMUS agreements in Turkey in the field of psychology, holds many ERASMUS agreements with Europeans universities. Üsküdar University, which opened a representative office in Cologne, Germany in 2016, provides education and healthcare services to our citizens living in Europe.

R&D

Üsküdar University carries out its R&D activities with including the academic staff as well as the students into the processes. Üsküdar University has 3000m² laboratory area that include Brain Mapping (QEEG), Genetics (DNA Isolation), Neurobiofeedback, Neuropsychology, Brain Stimulation, Stimulation, Neuroimaging and Drug Genetics, Neuropsychopharmacology Phase 1 (NPF) laboratories that are active and are offered to the students.

Üsküdar University is known with its pioneering activities that gained value to Turkey, gives practical training with its more than 50 laboratories, particularly personalized treatment and advanced toxicology laboratory.

R&D studies such as Neuromodulation Therapy, Neurogenetic Studies, Autism, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's Research and Virtual Reality Programs in health are actualized with the students.
